Montra: A Financial Tracker Web-App for Students

A minimal, fast, and student-focused expense tracker built for real-world money discipline.

PROJECT_DETAILS

Montra

Montra was built to tackle a real, everyday pain point for students: most expense tracking apps are bloated, slow, and mentally exhausting to use consistently. Instead of piling on features, Montra deliberately goes in the opposite direction — a minimal UI, instant interactions, and zero friction. The core idea is straightforward: open the app, log an expense in seconds, and get back to life without breaking focus.

The application is developed using React with Vite, enabling ultra-fast local development and highly optimized production builds. TypeScript is used throughout the codebase to enforce type safety, improve maintainability, and keep the architecture clean as the app scales. Every component and interaction is carefully designed to feel snappy, with a strong emphasis on performance and responsiveness.

The UI follows a mobile-first, fully responsive design, making Montra practical for real-world daily usage across phones, tablets, and desktops. There’s no visual clutter, no unnecessary flows, and no cognitive overload — just the essentials, presented clearly and efficiently when users need them.

Montra is deployed on Vercel, leveraging its edge-ready infrastructure for fast load times, reliable global delivery, and seamless CI/CD. Overall, the project reflects clean frontend engineering, intentional UX decisions, and strong product thinking, showing that building something simple — and doing it well — is often harder and more impactful than shipping feature-heavy apps.
